Rev. Herman L. "Lee" Romero
Lee was born and
raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He entered the U.S. Navy, in 1976, after short
time in college, and served six years. He then went into field service work
for 21 years, working at Trinity University, Perkin Elmer Corp., Hitachi
Instruments and
ASML
Inc. When Lee left the corporate sector he was Regional Service Manager,
located in Austin, TX.
He received his
undergraduate degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, in 1992. He
enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting. He also enjoys
working on mission and building projects that involve a variety of
construction skills.
He and his wife
attended Dripping Springs United Methodist Church before being called into
the ministry. He is a graduate of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary,
and while in seminary served as a local pastor at Decker
UMC. He came to Ingleside
UMC in June 2007.
He is married to
Kathy, who treasures her Texas heritage: she is a graduate of Texas A&I, in
Kingsville (now Texas A&M Kingsville), where she received a degree in
Secondary Education, certified in Math and Art. Lee and Kathy have three
children: Jennifer (deceased), Justin and Amy. Justin is a graduate of UT
Austin and lives and works in Austin. Amy is currently attending UT Austin.
Lee's ministry
focuses on relationships with God and with each other. "Your attitude
should be the same as Christ Jesus:" Philippines 2:5
