Lee was born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He entered the U.S. Navy, in 1976, after short time in college, and served six years.  He then went into field service work for 21 years, working at Trinity University, Perkin Elmer Corp., Hitachi Instruments and ASML Inc.  When Lee left the corporate sector he was Regional Service Manager, located in Austin, TX.

He received his undergraduate degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, in 1992. He enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting.  He also enjoys working on mission and building projects that involve a variety of construction skills.

He and his wife attended Dripping Springs United Methodist Church before being called into the ministry. He is a graduate of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and while in seminary served as a local pastor at Decker UMC. He came to Ingleside UMC in June 2007.

He is married to Kathy, who treasures her Texas heritage: she is a graduate of Texas A&I, in Kingsville (now Texas A&M Kingsville), where she received a degree in Secondary Education, certified in Math and Art.  Lee and Kathy have three children: Jennifer (deceased), Justin and Amy.  Justin is a graduate of UT Austin and lives and works in Austin.  Amy is currently attending UT Austin.

Lee's ministry focuses on relationships with God and with each other.  "Your attitude should be the same as Christ Jesus:" Philippines 2:5
